Measuring Maize Productivity Through a Survei Ubinan Jagung in Kabupaten Banjarnegara

Banjarnegara - One of the survey activities conducted by BPS Banjarnegara Regency to measure the productivity and production of maize is by carrying out a Survei Ubinan Jagung. There are 3 subruond activities carried out in a year, namely subround 1 (January-April), subruond 2 (May-August), and subruond 3 (September-December). Corn cropping which is implemented in Banjarnegara Regency is entering subround 1 (January-April).

Ubinan is implemented after obtaining a sample of agricultural households cultivating corn plants based on the results of updating / updating agricultural households in the selected census block before entering the subround time, namely 1-2 weeks earlier. When the maize plants belonging to the farmers' households selected as samples have entered harvest time, the corn plantations will be plotted with an area of ​​2.5 x 2.5 square meters to be harvested and the weight of maize in the ubinan plots is measured.

The weighing results obtained through the corn kernels will vary greatly depending on the type of land, the variety of maize used, the fertilizers used, the spacing that is treated, the attack of plant pests and so on. The maize harvested in the weighed ubinan plots will be used to measure maize production per hectare.

After measuring the selected plots, interviews were conducted with respondents who owned plots of ubinan.
