Abstract

This publication presents indicators used to describe human development achievements, especially gaps and access for women in development, including the Gender Development Index (IPG) and the Gender Empowerment Index (IDG). The IPG describes the gap in human development achievements between men and women, while the IDG measures the active participation of men and women in economic, political and decision-making activities. These two gender indicators can be used as a reference for gender-based development results.
